Mammal animals can fulfil different roles in your Ranch.
They can be bred inside Barns or Coops or directly purchased from Nina's Ranch.
Each mammal animal has its own unique reproductive behaviour and reproduction cycle.
The mammals reproduction is only possible when your animals are kept inside a Barn or Coop and they are happy, in good health condition and at a Mature growth stage.
A female and a male of the same species must be kept in the same Barn or Coop.
Once the female is inseminated, it will start its gestation period. The duration of the gestation period will vary from one species to another and it will be affected by the animals quality. More information in the concerned animal page.
Once the gestation period is over, the animal will give birth to the new born(s) inside the Barn or the Coop. The Barn or the Coop must have enough housing space available to welcome the new born(s).
Without enough space in the Coop or the Barn and no intervention from the player for some time, the pregnancy could be unsuccessful. 😱
💡The whole pregnancy process of your animal can be followed in its information Pop-up:
The quantity of new born(s) will vary depending on the animal species.
If the species is known for having multiple new borns in the same pregnancy cycle, then the female will have a chance to have twins, triplets or more.
The quantity of new borns is also affected by the females quality: A legendary Goat Doe will have far more chances to give multiple Kids than a silver one…
New born(s) have a 50% chance to be a male and a 50% chance to be a female.
If the parents have the same quality, then the new born(s) quality will be upgraded to the next quality level. Otherwise the new born(s) will inherit the greater one.
Some animals like cows (female) and goats (female)… have a chance to give dairy products to the player everyday if kept correctly.
The resource drop conditions will differ slightly from one animal to another but there are some common conditions:
The quality of the resource obtained is the same as the animal quality: golden cows give golden milk…
The farm animal can produce better resources if it has been outdoors that day (or raised outdoors). Otherwise, it will only produce the lowest quality resource.
The quantity of resources given by the animal will depend on its Nutrition status.
⚠️The current animal list is based on The Ranchers Alpha development stage. Additional animals will be added in future development stages and before The Ranchers final release.
