Oviparous animals can fulfil different roles in your Ranch.
They can be bred inside Barns or Coops or directly purchased from Nina's Ranch.
Each Oviparous animal has its own unique behaviour and egg laying cycle.
Some lay eggs everyday, every few days and others once in while.
Oviparous females can lay eggs without the presence of an oviparous male of the same species.
The time it takes for an oviparous female to lay eggs will vary depending on species and it's affected(reduced) depending on the quality of the female: Golden Hens will lay eggs more often (once a day) than a bronze one that will take 3 days to lay an egg.
For a female to lay an egg, it has to be kept in a Barn or a Coop, happy, in good health condition and at a Mature growth stage.
💡Laid eggs have a certain chance to be of Medium or Large size depending on the quality, age, breed and the diet of the oviparous female.
You can see if your oviparous female is about to lay an egg in its information Pop-Up:

For an Egg to hatch it needs to be fertilized beforehand. Depending on the species, a male presence is required for that process to happen.
For Egg fertilization, a male and a female of the same species must be kept in the same Barn or Coop.
The Eggs have a chance to be fertilized depending on the quality and the happiness/mood of the male and female involved: A happy, bronze Hen has more chance to lay a fertilized egg with the presence of a happy golden rooster than a bronze one…
The current status of an Egg (fertilized successfully, fertilization failed, incubation in progress, incubation interrupted…) can be seen in the concerned Egg Pop-Up:

The duration and the condition of the incubation process varies for each species and it's also affected by the females quality.
Some Oviparous females will only start their incubation process a few days AFTER the egg was laid.
⚠️When there is no egg-laying happy female around to look after the egg, it is the main cause for the hatching process to stop.
Once the incubation period is over, the egg will hatch and “give birth” to a new born(s) inside the Barn or the Coop. The Barn or the Coop must have enough housing space available to welcome the new born(s).
Medium and Large sized Eggs have a greater chance to give multiple new born(s). This chance is also affected by the Eggs own quality.
The new born quality is always the same as the egg quality.
The egg quality will be one level higher than the parents’ quality if they have the same quality. If not, the egg will have the same quality as the higher one of the parents.
New born(s) have a 50% chance to be a male and a 50% chance to be a female.
⚠️The current animal list is based on The Ranchers Alpha development stage. Additional animals will be added in future development stages and before The Ranchers final release.
Coop dwelling animals can be breed outdoors or inside a Coop.
